Hello! My name is Harrison, and I’m 17 years old. I am the creator of ElevatorUp: the new card game that keeps the whole family smiling through Ups, Downs, and getting Stuck! Before I get into discussing the process, I want to warn you that the following ELEVATOR pitch is jam packed with elevator puns (in all caps).

I came UP with the premise of ElevatorUp (before the theme) when I was around 12 years old. I would play with my family and friends, and eventually drew UP my own set of cards on printer paper. When I got older, I decided it was time to turn ElevatorUp into a real game, so I came UP with the theme, elevators (which have fascinated me since before I could reach the buttons) and began designing it.

I made countless redesigns, and now the game is all done. Here’s a very quick How to Play:

  • Each player discards higher floor cards on top of lower floors as they race to be the first one out of cards. But, you have to be careful that you don’t get Stuck or that other players don’t Close the Doors on you. Right at the end of the game, you must play with cards that you set before you started playing and some that are a mystery. Each round takes about 15 minutes, is filled with surprising changes, and makes you want to play again and again!

I am so excited to now be able to share my game with people. I have made so many memories and had great fun playing, so to be able to LIFT the spirits of other families, spreading joy, would be a dream to me. That truly is my only goal for ElevatorUp: to bring as much joy to as many people as I can. I hope I didn’t push your BUTTONS!
