This page is part of a series of pages that classifies games by their objective and does not give any specific rules to any games. Please check out the rest of our site for more in-depth pages on gaming rules.
As with all things in life, some things do not fit so easily into labeled categories. So, this page is for all the games that have an objective that is not suitable to fall under one of the other overarching pages.
Discovery
These games have use cards that hold, usually secret, information about the player holding it. The act of gradually finding out this information about others, or sometimes yourself, plays into the main objective of the game in some way.
For example, the most popular of these games is the hidden role category. These games have players using role cards and finding out other players identities so that they may eliminate those that are not on their team.
First to Score
These games usually have a win condition that involves the first player to complete the objective of the game. It may be to score a certain number of points or to collect a particular set of cards, but the winner is the first person to do this.
