OVERVIEW OF 60 SECOND SLAM
60 Second Slam is a party card game playable by 2 to 6 players. The goal of the game is to be the player with the highest score after 5 rounds.
Players will compete to name one thing for each letter based on a category. Players who have unique answers during the reveal will score points.
SETUP
Each player receives a pencil, and a score sheet and one player will be chosen to be the first moderator. The moderator can remain the same player for the game or can pass to the left for each new round.
The category cards should be shuffled and placed near the moderator.
Card Types
On the category cards, there are two types of words. There are yellow words and blue words. Yellow words tend to be more specific, and therefore more difficult. The type of words used can either be chosen before the card is revealed by the moderator, or the group can decide to use only a specific color of the word for the game.
GAMEPLAY
To start the game the moderator will either choose a color, or the group will have already selected one for the game. The moderator will flip the top card and read the respective word being used for this round. After the word has been read, the moderator will flip the 60-second timer, and all players will have one minute to write as many answers as they can for the category onto their card.
Once the minute is over the moderator calls time and all players must stop writing. Unfinished words do not count. Then the moderator will call out each letter one at a time and players will reveal their answers. Players with the same answer cancel each other out and none who have the same answer get a point. Any player with a unique answer gets a point.
After each round, players will record their score on their sheet.
END OF GAME
The game lasts for 5 rounds. After the 5th round is scored players will compare scores. The player with the highest score wins the game.
