OVERVIEW OF LOW HOLE

Low Hole is a poker card game for 3 to 10 players. The object of the game is to make and win bids. Low Hole is also known as Late Show in some parts of the world.

This is a Seven Card Stud poker game variation, so a general knowledge of how to play poker and poker hands is needed.

SETUP

There will be a dealer who may or may not play in the round. This is up to the table and the environment the game is being played in.

The dealer will shuffle and deal each player a 3-card hand. the first 2 cards dealt are dealt face down, the third is dealt face up.

A round of bidding is performed immediately after hands are dealt.

Card and Hand Rankings

Cards are ranked traditionally. Ace (high), King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2 (low).

The traditional ranking of poker hands is used as well.

This game can be played with low and high-low ranking variations as well.

GAMEPLAY

After the initial bidding round is concluded, each player is dealt a fourth face-up card, and another round of bidding proceeds. Then a 5th and 6th face card is dealt with a round of bidding after each.

The final and 7th card is dealt face down and another round of bidding takes place. The lowest rank card of the ones dealt face down becomes wild for that player, as well as all cards of its same rank.

SHOWDOWN

The final round of bidding will end and if more than one player remains in the round then a showdown takes place. All remaining players will show their 7 cards and make the highest 5-card hand possible.

The player with the highest hand of the table wins the pot.

END OF GAME

The game does not have a standard end. Players may enter and exit the game between rounds of play.
