Easter church events don’t have to be all lesson and no fun. In fact, some of the best Easter games for church are the ones that help kids, teens, or even adults engage with the story in a more memorable way. After all, isn’t that the point? To really understand Easter and the story and meaning behind the resurrection? So, here are 10 fun, faith-based Easter games for church that you should set up that kids and teens will love.
1. RESURRECTION EGG HUNT

This is a great twist on the classic Easter egg hunt because it adds a storytelling element to the fun. Instead of just filling eggs with candy, place small items inside that represent parts of the Easter story. Think a tiny cross, a small stone, a scrap of cloth, or even a paper crown of thorns.
As children find the eggs, gather everyone together and open them one by one to talk through what each object means. It turns a simple hunt into something much more meaningful, while still keeping all the excitement of a normal egg hunt.
2. ROLL THE STONE RELAY

If you want something active that gets everybody laughing, this is a fun one. In Roll the Stone Relay, teams race to move a large ball across a field or gym using only their feet. The ball represents the stone rolled away from the tomb, which makes the game feel especially fitting for Easter Sunday!
The first team to get their “stone” to the finish line wins.
3. EASTER BIBLE TRIVIA

Want an Easter game for church that works for mixed ages? Easter Bible Trivia is an easy one to plan and play.
Before Easter Sunday, come up with questions about the events leading up to the resurrection, the crucifixion, and what happened on Easter morning. You can make it easier for younger kids and a little more challenging for youth groups or adults.
A few example questions to get you started:
- Who betrayed Jesus?
- What was rolled away from the tomb?
- Who found the empty tomb first?
This one works well in teams, and it’s a nice option if you want something lower-energy between more active games.
4. WHO AM I?: BIBLE EDITION

To play Who Am I?, write the names of Bible characters on slips of paper and tape one to each player’s forehead without letting them see it. Then, they walk around asking yes-or-no questions to figure out who they are. Since this is for Easter, you can focus the characters mainly on the Easter story, though you can branch out more broadly into Bible characters too, if you have a larger group.
You could include people like:
- Mary Magdalene
- Peter
- Pontius Pilate
- Judas
It’s easy to set up, and it works especially well for youth groups.
5. RESURRECTION STORY ORDER RACE

This game is part puzzle, part race, and it’s a great way to reinforce the Easter story. To play, write out major events from the story of Easter on separate cards. Then divide players into teams and have them race to put the events in the correct order. Once they think they’ve got it right, a leader can check their answers. The great thing about this game is that you can easily adapt the difficulty depending on the age group.
6. FIND THE MISSING VERSE

This one is quick and easy, perfect for if you need something with almost no setup. To play, simply read aloud a Bible verse related to Easter, but leave out one important word. Players then have to shout out the missing word as fast as they can. You can award points for correct answers or just play casually for fun.
7. BUILD THE EMPTY TOMB

If your group likes hands-on activities, play Build the Empty Tomb. Split everyone into teams and give them supplies like cardboard, paper cups, blocks, tape, or craft materials. Their challenge? Build a model of the empty tomb.
8. PASS THE BIBLE VERSE

Are you familiar with the very popular parlor and classroom game Telephone? Have the first player read a Bible verse, ideally Easter-related. Then they whisper it to the next person, who whispers it to the next, and so on until the last person says it out loud. Usually, what comes out at the end is not exactly what went in at the beginning. But that’s part of the fun!
9. EASTER CHARADES

Charades is already a classic church game, and Easter is another perfect opportunity to play this game. Make it Easter-related by giving prompts like:
- Jesus carrying the cross
- The Last Supper
- angels at the tomb
- The stone being rolled away
You can play this in teams or just as one big group.
10. FIND THE ANGEL

If you want another scavenger-hunt-style activity, Find the Angel is a fun choice we recommend. To play, hide paper angels around the church or the playing area. On each angel, write a piece of the resurrection story.
Players then work together to search for all the angels and use the clues they collect to complete the full Easter story from beginning to end!
