OVERVIEW OF LAME BRAIN PETE
Lame Brain Pete is a poker card game for 3 to 10 players. The object of the game is to make and win bids.
This is a poker game variation, so a general knowledge of how to play poker and poker hands is needed.
SETUP
There will be a dealer who may or may not play in the round. This is up to the table and the environment the game is being played in.
The dealer will shuffle and deal each player a 3-card hand. There is a round of bidding done before the table cards are dealt. Then 4 cards are dealt to the center of the table, face down.
Card and Hand Rankings
Cards are ranked traditionally. Ace (high), King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2 (low).
The game also uses the traditional ranking of hands.
GAMEPLAY
The game begins with the dealer revealing the first face-down table card. After the card is revealed, there is a round of bidding.
Each card is revealed one at a time with a separate round of bidding after each.
The lowest-ranked revealed card is considered a wild card, as is all card of its same rank. After the final bidding round is finished the showdown begins.
SHOWDOWN
The final round of bidding will end and if more than one player remains in the round then a showdown takes place. All remaining players will show their 3-card hand and use these cards plus the central cards to make the highest poker hand possible.
The player with the highest hand of the table wins the pot.
END OF GAME
The game does not have a standard end. Players may enter and exit the game between rounds of play.
