SUBTRACTION SMASH MATH GAME

OBJECTIVE OF PARKING LOT MATH GAME: The objective of Subtraction Smash is to get the most problems correct. 

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 2 or More Players 

MATERIALS: Playdough and Math Cards

AUDIENCE: Ages 4 and Up 

OVERVIEW OF SUBTRACTION SMASH 

Subtraction Smash is a fun, action-filled game that will quickly get kids involved in practicing their subtraction skills. Here, the player will be presented with a subtraction problem. They will then lay out the necessary number of playdough balls, and they will SMASH the balls that are being subtracted, leaving the answer to the equation! Visually, physically, and mentally stimulating, this game is great for math practice. 

SETUP 

To setup, create as many subtraction problems as you would like on index cards, with each index card having one problem on it. Roll out a few balls of playdough. It is recommended to roll out the balls in numerous colors, making them more visually stimulating.  

The game is then ready to begin!  

GAMEPLAY 

When the player is presented with the index card, they should begin by counting out the total number of dough balls. The player will then smash a number of the balls that is equal to the number that is begin subtracted.  

Once the player is done, the adult should check and see if they are correct. Once they have completed checking, the next player will take their turn with their random question. The process will be repeated until all of the problems have been solved.  

END OF GAME 

The game comes to an end when all of the problems have been worked through. The winner is the player who got the most problems correct.
