INTRODUCTION OF CIVIL WAR BEER PONG
Civil War Beer Pong is a fast-paced Beer Olympics game played similarly to beer pong. This is a 3 vs. 3 team game. With 4 ping pong balls flying across the table at once, it is an understatement to say this game is intense.
WHAT YOU NEED
To play Civil War Beer Pong, you will need 36 red Solo cups, four ping pong balls, and a 12-pack of 12 oz beers. You will also need 2-3 long tables for the setup. Although optional, it may be a good idea to set up a few water cups to clean off the ping pong balls before throwing them.
SETUP
To set up Civil War Beer Pong, you will need to place 2-3 long tables side by side, essentially creating one huge table. Set up 3, 6-cup triangles on each side of the table. Use two 12 oz beers to fill the cups of each triangle. Then place the 4 ping pong balls in the center of the table.
THE PLAY
On the count of three, the game starts. Civil War Beer Pong is much more fast-paced than standard beer pong. If any player gains possession of a ball, they are able to shoot. There are no turns, the game just continues going until all of the cups from one team are out.
There are two teams of 3, and each team member is assigned a 6-cup triangle. If a ball lands in one of your cups, you must drink the beer, place the cup to the side, and then you can shoot.
Bounces
If a player bounces a ball on the table and the ball goes into an opponent’s cup, it counts as double. This means the opponent must drink and remove two cups. But the opponent is able to swat the ball away after the first bounce, so it can be a risky move if you’re up for it!
House Rules
There are plenty of variations to the standard rules that can be added to Civil War Beer Pong, such as:
- Same cup: If two team members make a ball in the same cup back to back, four cups must be removed.
- Island: If there is a cup that is disconnected from the rest of the cups, an opponent can call “island”. If they make it in the “island cup”, then two cups must be removed. But if they make it in a different cup, it does not count. Island can only be called once per game, per team.
WINNING
When all 6 of the player’s cups have been sunk, they are “out”. The game ends when all 3 players of one team are “out”, and at least 1 player from a team remains.
