INTRODUCTION TO DROP DEAD

In Drop Dead, each player pushes their luck to the limit by rolling as often as possible without landing on a 2 or a 5.  Use this game as an icebreaker for game night, or as a way to determine who goes first in the main game.  Of course, in a bar or coffee shop, use this game to determine who buys the next round.

THE PLAY

Each player will take a turn rolling all five dice.  The player with the highest total goes first.

On a player’s first turn, they roll all five dice.  A player’s score is a running total that builds throughout their turn.  If a player does not roll any 2’s or 5’s, they earn points equal to the sum of the dice.  They continue their turn by rolling again.  Anytime a player does not roll a 2 or a 5, they add the new sum to their total.

2’s and 5’s are considered dead dice.  When a player rolls any 2’s or 5’s, those dice are removed, and the player does not score any points for the roll.  They continue their turn by rolling the remaining dice.

Once a player rolls a 2 or a 5 with their final die, their turn is over.  The dice are passed to the next player, and play continues until everyone at the table has taken their turn.

WINNING

Once all of the players have taken their turn, the game is over.  The player with the highest total wins.
