OBJECT OF HI-HO! CHERRY-O: The object of Hi-Ho! Cherry-O is to be the first player to collect 10 cherries for your bucket.

MATERIALS: Rulebook, 44 plastic cherries, one gameboard, 4 trees, 4 buckets, and a spinner.

OVERVIEW OF HI-HO! CHERRY-O

Hi-Ho Cherry-O! is a children’s board game for 2 to 4 players. This game is great for little kids and teaches the fundamentals of counting while also being slightly competitive and fun. The goal of the game is to be the first player to collect the needed 10 cherries from the trees to your bucket.

SETUP

Each player will choose a color. This will assign them both a bucket and a tree of a matching color. Then each player will take 10 cherries and place them in the spots in the trees. The first player is randomly determined or can be the youngest player in the group.

GAMEPLAY

The first player will take their turn and the game passes to their left. On a player’s turn, they will spin the included spinner to determine the outcome of their turn.

If they land on the space with a single cherry printed on it, they are allowed to pick a single cherry from their tree to add to their bucket.

They may land on the space marked with 2 cherries, that player may pick two cherries from their tree and add both of the cherries to their bucket.

If they land on the space marked with 3 cherries, that player may pick three cherries from their tree and add all three of the cherries to their bucket.

They may land on the space marked with 4 cherries, that player may pick four cherries from their tree and add all four of the cherries to their bucket.

If they land on the space marked with a bird, that player takes two cherries from their bucket and places them back on their tree. If the player only has a single cherry, they will place the one cherry back on the tree, and if they have no cherries, nothing is placed back to the tree.

They may they land on the space marked with a dog. That player takes two cherries from their bucket and places them back on their tree. If the player only has a single cherry, they will place the one cherry back on the tree. If they have no cherries, nothing is placed back to the tree.

They may land on the space marked with the spilled bucket. The player must place all cherries in their bucket back onto the tree and start over.

END OF GAME

The game ends when a player is able to get all 10 cherries from their matching colored tree to their matching colored bucket. All 10 cherries must be present to end the game. the player to achieve this first is the winner. The game can continue to find placement for all the remaining players.
