OVERVIEW OF LICENSE PLATE WORD GAME
The License Plate Word Game is the perfect fun game to play during short car rides to school or a long road trips. If your a big fan of crosswords or Scrabble, this game is sure to tickle your fancy and bring out your competitive side while you sit or drive in the car. You don’t need any supplies to play this game on your next road trip: just an extensive vocabulary!
There are no short supply of the many license plates on the road, which makes when you play the license plate game that much easier. It will keep the kids entertained and multiple games can be played. Make sure to add it when planning your next family road trip games.
Look at the license plate of the car in front of you and check out the letters on the license plate. One by one, each player must say a word that uses each those letters at least once. For example, if the license plate has the letters “A” “T” and “F”, some examples of words that can be created are:
As long as each of the letters is present in the word, it is a valid word. The order the letters appear on the license plate doesn’t matter. Proper nouns are also valid words, but if you want to up the ante, consider banning proper nouns altogether! The players in the car must say one word at a time until a player is unable to think of a word.
If you like to be more competitive you can have each valid point worth 1 point!
END OF GAME
The player that is unable to think of a word loses the round. The next round starts when another car with different license plates takes over the previous car. If playing a certain number of rounds or time frame, the player with who uses the most license plates and has the most points wins!
