OVERVIEW OF MEXICAN STUD
Mexican Stud is a poker card game for 2 or more players. The goal is for you to build a poker hand for the round.
Players should establish before the game begins what the maximum and minimum bid will be and what to set the ante at.
The first dealer is chosen at random and passes to the left for each new deal.
Each player pays the ante to the pot and then the dealer deals each player 2 face-down cards.
Card and Hand Rankings
The ranking of cards and hands is standard for poker. The ranking is Ace (high), King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2 (low). Hand ranking can be found here.
Each player now chooses one of their two cards to reveal. Following the reveal, there is a bidding round. Follow the standard poker rules for betting.
After the first round of bidding is complete, players are dealt another face-down card. Once again players will choose one of their two concealed cards and reveal it. Another round of bidding occurs.
This sequence continues until all players have received 5 cards with 4 cards revealed. A final round of bidding occurs.
After the final round of bidding is concluded, the showdown begins. Each player reveals their final card and the player with the highest-ranked 5-card hand is the winner. They collect the pot.
