OVERVIEW OF SUPER BOWL BINGO

Bingo is a classic game that can be played with a twist to suit any occasion – including the Super Bowl! Write Super Bowl-related items and events on the bingo cards, and get ready to play this simple but fun game!

SETUP

Although you can certainly print out a pre-made set of bingo cards, what’s the fun in that? If you have the time to do so, try making your own cards.

On a 5 x 5 card, write 25 different potential events that may happen. And don’t forget to add a “FREE” space in the middle of the card. Potential events can include things like:

  • Car commercial
  • Touchdown
  • 1st down
  • False start
  • 5-yard penalty
  • Field goal

Then use variations of these events and a few others to create different bingo cards for each player. Once you’ve created these cards, each bingo card should be unique and slightly different from the others. Having a variation of events on each bingo card can make this game even more fun.

Distribute these bingo cards to each player (including yourself) at the beginning of the Super Bowl to get started.

GAMEPLAY

Start by crossing off the FREE section in the middle of the card. The goal is to be the first one to get a line of 5 crossed-out events, whether vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.

Each player must watch for events that may happen and are included on their bingo card. And whenever a particular event occurs, the player must cross it out. Keep crossing out events as they happen.

END OF GAME

The game ends when one player manages to cross out all five events in a row, column, or diagonal. When this happens, the player must yell out “bingo” to announce to the party that they have won the game.
