OVERVIEW OF SUPER BOWL CHARADES

Gather all your friends and family to play this popular parlor game before or after the Super Bowl. You could even play this during commercial breaks! Superbowl charades is a fun game that adults and young children alike can enjoy playing.

SETUP

In this game, there are two bowls or hats for each team to draw their word.

Divide the group into two teams. Each team writes Super Bowl-related words and adds them to the opposing team’s bowl. To get an even number of slips in each bowl, give each player in each team an agreed-upon number of slips.

Examples of what can be added to the bowl:

  • Touchdown
  • A Team’s Mascot
  • Halfback
  • Referee
  • 10-yard penalty
  • Tackle

GAMEPLAY

Play a quick game of rock, paper, scissors to decide which team gets to go first. The winning team chooses a player from their team to be the first mimer. The mimer must pick a slip of paper from their team’s bowl and try to get their team to guess the word without using any words or sounds – miming only! The 1-minute timer (or shorter for a more difficult game) starts the moment the mimer picks up the slip, and their team must guess the word within the timeframe to win a point.

Failure to guess before the timer goes off means that the mimer must discard their slip of paper and the team wins no points for the round.

The second team then gets a turn. After that, the two teams alternate turns until there are no more slips of paper.

END OF GAME

The team with the most points at the end of the game wins!
