OVERVIEW OF SUPER BOWL DRINKING GAME

Every Super Bowl party will have cans and bottles of beer stocked to the brim in the fridge. Though you can certainly drink at your own pace, if you want to turn it into a game, try this fun Super Bowl drinking game!

SETUP

Before the party starts, write down a list of Super Bowl drinking game rules, dividing them into three categories, as shown below. You can follow the example below, or get creative and write your own!

SIP IF…

  • The offensive team gets a 1st down
  • A pass is completed
  • A flag is thrown
  • The commercials start

FINISH YOUR DRINK IF…

  • A touchdown is scored
  • The QB is sacked
  • The quarter ends
  • A 20+ yard pass is completed
  • You spot a celebrity in the crowd

TAKE A SHOT IF…

  • Your team wins the Super Bowl
  • Your team loses the Super Bowl
  • There’s an interception

If you decide to write your own rules, try to divide them according to what is more likely to happen (sip if) and what is less likely to happen (take a shot if). After all, the last thing you want is for the entire party to be too drunk to watch the game!

GAMEPLAY

At the beginning of the evening, print out your Super Bowl drinking game rules and announce them to the group so everyone knows what to do when each event happens. Put the rules somewhere everyone can see. Any time something on the drinking game rule list occurs, all players must sip, finish their drink, or take a shot, according to the rules.

END OF GAME

This game has no winner, but the most important thing is to have fun! The game ends when the Super Bowl game is over.
