OBJECTIVE OF SACK RACE: While in a sack, hop and jump to the finish line faster than the other players.

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 3+ players, but the more, the better!

MATERIALS: Sacks or pillowcases

OVERVIEW OF SACK RACE

SACK RACE, SACK RACE, overview

A sack race can be a fun way to start or end a field day with both children and adults. Anyone can participate in this game – as long as they are able to jump up and down to the finish line! This goofy race is sure to have everyone belly-laughing by the end.

SETUP

Before the game begins, designate a start line and finish line, and mark them, so all the players know where the race begins and ends. Each player must stand before the start line and put both feet into a sack, and hold onto the sack with at least one hand. They must maintain this position until the end of the race.

GAMEPLAY

At the start signal, all players jump and hop to the finish line, ensuring to keep both feet in the sack and at least one hand on the sack.

END OF GAME

The player that crosses the finish line first wins the race!
