OVERVIEW OF RETIREMENT BINGO

RETIREMENT BINGO SETUP

A game of bingo is a surefire way to get everyone excited for the party. While the game is simple, it can get hearts racing, and a winner emerges by the end. Retirement Bingo is a fun twist on a classic game that places the guest of honor at the center of it all.

GAMEPLAY OF RETIREMENT BINGO

RETIREMENT BINGO GAMEPLAY

To set up this game, create unique bingo cards for each player. Each bingo card must be ever-so-slightly varied and different from the others. Instead of having numbers placed on each square, instead, put statements regarding the retiree and bucket list items. For example:

  • Has known the retiree for at least 20 years
  • Has or has owned a dog
  • Has been on the phone with the retiree at 3 in the morning
  • Has gone on a run with the retiree
  • Has skydived

To create the bingo card, there must be 24 unique statements on each square of a single bingo card (5×5), plus 1 free spot in the middle.

Print each of these unique bingo cards out before the game begins, and distribute them to each player along with a pen.

To play the game, all players must talk to other players in order to cross off the boxes. All players must ask other players in the room whether any of the statements apply to them.

For example, if Player 1 had a box that said: “has been to another country with the retiree”, Player 1 must ask someone else (in this example, Player 2) if that box applies to them. If yes, Player 1 can cross off that box. If not, Player 1 can ask Player 2 another question or look for yet another player, such as Player 3, that may answer yes.

END OF GAME

The first person that manages to cross 5 boxes in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally wins the game! You can hand out small prizes to the first players to present winning bingo cards.
