OVERVIEW OF AGE OF PRIMES

After hundreds of years in space, the crew found on the colony ship Dorchester have landed on a remote alien world. The pioneers split into four different factions, each with their own civilization dominated by people of influence. Age of Primes is the perfect story-driven card fame for those with a love for science fiction.

SETUP

Setup is quick and simple. The players will look through their deck and find the Prime card that they would like to use as their Persona throughout the course of the game. This card is placed in front of the player, face down. The remaining cards are then shuffled together. Each player will draw five cards from their deck, creating their starting hand.

The first player is randomly chosen by the group. Everyone will reveal their Personas at the same time. The game is then ready to begin!

GAMEPLAY

The game is played over the course of numerous turns, with each turn consisting of several phases. The players will rotate in clockwise order who becomes the active player. The phases consist of the start phase, the middle phase, and the end phase.

At the beginning of every turn, the active player will complete three steps. They will trigger any abilities that state that they will take effect at the beginning of a turn. Then they will refresh any and all Primes or Followers in their party. Finally, they will draw a card from their deck. This will complete the start phase of the game.

The active player will then move on to the middle phase of their turn. During this phase, the player may play a card, activate an ability, or initiate a dual. They may complete any of these actions in whatever order they choose. Once the player has completed the actions of their choice, they will move on to the final phase of their turn.

The final phase consists of the player completing their closing actions. Here, they will use any abilities that are required to use at the end of their turn. Next, they will discard any cards in their hand in excess of seven cards. Any damage is then removed from the Followers that are in play.

Once their turn ends, the next player’s turn will begin. The play will rotate clockwise around the board until the end of the game is triggered. It is unsure how many turns will actually take place!

END OF GAME

The game comes to an end when a player reaches 25 Prestige. The first player to do this is considered to be the winner. If the players wish, they can tally their points to confirm that the winner is correct. The player with the highest Prestige should be the winner!
