TYPE OF GAME: Baby Shower Party Game

AUDIENCE: Ages 5 and Up

OVERVIEW OF DON’T SAY BABY

Don’t Say Baby is a classic baby shower game that limits the guests’ use of the word “baby”. Afterall, the parents are going to be hearing that word A LOT in the next few years. As guests enter the shower, they are given five clothespins that they must wear on the front of their shirt, somewhere where other players can access it. As they go through the night, anytime a guest says the word “baby” a clothespin is taken from them, and the player that took it, can keep it!

SETUP

There is no setup required for this game. Simply, give each player five clothespins as they enter the party.

GAMEPLAY

To play, the players will begin by placing their clothespins on the front of their shirt or jacket. As the party continues, the players must attempt to never say the word “baby”, while also being vigilant for other players using the dreaded word. Anytime a player uses the word, one of their clothespins can be taken by the player that caught them.

Once the player has no more clothespins, they are allowed to use the word however much they want.

END OF GAME

The game comes to an end at the end of the shower. The players will tally up the number of clothespins that they have. The player with the highest number of clothespins, wins the game!
