THE ROAD TRIP ALPHABET GAME

OBJECTIVE OF THE ALPHABET GAME: The objective of The Alphabet Game is to be the first player to find a sign for every letter of the alphabet.

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 2 or More Players

MATERIALS: An Alphabet Checklist and Pencils

TYPE OF GAME: Road Trip Matching Game

AUDIENCE: Ages 5 and Up

OVERVIEW OF THE ALPHABET GAME

The Alphabet Game will quickly have kids practicing their letters before they even know it. It also makes for an interesting competition with the adults, because it is harder than it sounds. Beginning with the letter A, each player must attempt to find a sign that represents each letter in the alphabet. Players can use their checklist to ensure that they are keeping the correct score.

SETUP

The setup is quick and simple. Give each player a checklist and a pencil, and you are done! The game is then ready to begin.

GAMEPLAY

During the game, players will attempt to score points simultaneously. Players will attempt to find signs that begin with different letters of the alphabet. Once a player calls one, the other players are not allowed to use that same sign. This adds to the competition, because the players must beat the other players to the sign.

Once a player calls out the sign, they will add it to their checklist beside the letter that it begins with. The game will continue in this manner until there is a winner or the road trip is over.

END OF GAME

The game comes to an end when the road trip comes to an end or when a player completes the checklist. The first player to find a sign to match to ever letter of the alphabet, wins the game!
