There are many online games that inspire you to slap the cards on the table. The numerous variations of blackjack, baccarat and poker may be the most widespread and well-known options, but they by no means rule out other immersive and exciting card games.
If you are looking for something new to play, it might be tricky to find different options. The games are usually played with either cards or dice and the game icons in all online casinos look very similar to each other. This makes it hard to choose, which one would be the best to try out. However, we made the selection easier for you as we did the hard work, dived below the surface, tried many different casino games and found some amazing options for you to test out.
We will briefly go through a few card games that you might not have considered before but which surely are worth trying in 2021.
Teen PattiÂ
The first, less known in Europe is a card game called Teen Patti. Game is originally from India and it’s popular all around Southeast Asia. The name sounds funny and quite odd but Teen Patti rules are easy to learn. Teen Patti means “three cards” and the game itself resembles poker.
The game is usually played in a group of 3-6 players with 52-card deck without jokers. The game session starts by deciding on and collecting the boot amount from each player. The boot amount refers to the minimum stake, which is the money pot kept in the middle of the table. After the pot is collected and placed on the table, each player is dealt three cards face down. While the game progresses, the pot keeps growing and is ultimately won by the winner. The winner is the player who has the best or the highest hand based on the card ranking.
Card values from low to high:
- High Card – the dealer must have a Queen or higher, otherwise he doesn’t qualify.
- Pair – two cards of the same value, e.g. two 7s.
- Color/flush – three cards of the same color.
- Sequence/straight – three consecutive cards of mixed colors, e.g. 5, 6 and 7.
- Pure sequence/straight flush – three consecutive cards of the same color.
- Three of a kind – three of the same cards where three aces are the highest.
Andar BaharÂ
Andar Bahar is another card game originally from India – more specific from Bengaluru, the capital of the state of Karnataka. The game is more than 100 years old and it’s a very traditional feature of festivals such as Holi. The name of the game comes from two Hindu words where Andar means “inside” and Bahar “outside” – referring to how the cards are dealt by the dealer.
One reason for the game’s popularity is how easy the Andar Bahar rules are to adopt. The only thing you have to do is to decide on which side you want to bet on. Do you think the matching card, also called Joker, will appear on a pile of Andar or Bahar?
The game is played with one 52-card deck per round. The game starts by the dealer placing one card face up on the table. Cards are then dealt alternately on the Andar and Bahar sides. The game is over when the matching card of Joker is dealt. The winner is the player who bet on the winning pile where the matching card appeared.
There is also a chance to place side bets in Andar Bahar. Overall, the game is nice and simple, and the odds of winning are good – 50/50.
PokerÂ
Unlike the previous two games, poker is most probably familiar to everyone – at least by its name. Online poker made a strong comeback in online casino market in 2020 when the World Series of Poker (WSOP) was postponed in Las Vegas due to the Covid-19 and organized online for the first time in history.
World Series of Poker is the largest and richest gaming event in the whole world. It has already awarded more than $3,29 billion of prize money as well as the prestigious golden bracelets, which are globally recognized as the top price in sports.
WSOP expanded its partnership with GGPoker, one of the most leading online poker rooms, allowing international players to get a chance to pursue WSOP Bracelets straight from home for the first time ever.
In the main event of GG WSOP Online, GGPoker was awarded an official Guinness World Record for the largest prize pool in a single online poker tournament. $5000 Main Event attracted 5802 entries and generated a prize pool of $27.559.500.
The record itself proved the massive effect of combining the amazing GGPoker’s platform with the World Series of Poker brand. Does this give you enough motivation to test how well the online poker would suit you?
