INTRODUCTION OF FE FI FO FUM

Fe Fi Fo Fum is a hand shedding party game for 4 – 6 players.  During the game, players are playing cards from their hand in ascending order and trying to be the first to empty their hand.  Although this game is intended for kids, it would also be fun to play as a bar game.  The last player to empty their hand buys the next round!

THE CARDS & THE DEAL

This game is played with a standard 52 card deck.  To determine who deals first, have each player take a card from the deck.  Whoever takes the lowest card deals first.

That player should thoroughly shuffle the deck and deal out all of the cards to each player one at a time.  In a game with five or six players, some players will have more cards than others.  That’s okay.  Once the cards are dealt, the game begins.

THE PLAY

Beginning with the player to the left of the dealer, that player chooses a card from their hand and plays it to the center of the table.  When doing so, they must say, “Fe.”  Whoever has the next card of the same suit in ascending order plays that card and says, “Fi”.  The next player says, “Fo”.  In total, players will say Fe Fi Fo Fum with the final player saying, “Giant’s Bum”.  The player that play’s the “Giant’s Bum” will start a new run with the card of their choice.  They start the chant anew by saying, “Fe.”

Regardless of which part of the chant players are on, playing a King automatically resets the chant and the sequence.  Whoever played the King chooses the new starting card and begins the chant again.

As the game continues on, the run will stop more frequently because the required card will have already been played.  When a player plays a card, and nobody has the next card to continue the sequence, the same player chooses another card to play and begins the chant again.

The game continues until one of the players at the table has played all of their cards.

WINNING

The first player to empty their hand is the winner.
