OVERVIEW OF FLAG FOOTBALL

Flag football is a variation of football where the players do not tackle one another. Instead, they must remove a flag from the other player in order to “tackle” them. Contact is limited between the players, making it the perfect game for a variety of age groups, including younger children, to play safely, without much supervision.

SETUP

To begin setup for the game, the teams have to be chosen. The players should choose a team captain who will call plays throughout the course of the game. Each player should then be given two flags to tuck into their waistband, with one on each hip. The game is then ready to begin.

GAMEPLAY

Flag Football follows similar rules of football without the tackling aspect of the game. The players will run a play, pass the ball, and attempt to score touchdowns throughout the course of the game in order to win. This game is easily modified depending on the players that are participating, and it may be made easier or more difficult as it progresses.

After four plays have come to an end, or a team scores points, the opposing team will then get their chance with the ball.

END OF GAME

The game comes to an end when the players have scored a certain number of points. The players will determine this number of points before the game begins. The first team to reach this number of points, wins the game!
