NUMBER OF CARDS: 52 cards

TYPE OF GAME: Drinking Card game

INTRODUCTION OF FRIENDS AND ENEMIES

Friends and Enemies is a very simple drinking game.  During play, participants will be challenged to take a certain number of drinks depending on the card played.  Chosen players must try to deflect the card or take a specific number of drinks.  This game could be used as an icebreaker for the night, but participants should know their limits and drink responsibly.

THE CARDS & THE DEAL

 Friends and Enemies uses a 52 card deck.  Shuffle the cards and deal the deck out evenly to everyone playing the game.  Leftover cards are placed aside.

THE PLAY

The dealer begins the game by playing a card face up to the center of the table.  They then choose someone who must drink.  The chosen player takes a number of drinks equal to the value of the card.

DEFLECTING

If the chosen player is able to play a matching card, they can play it and deflect the drink to someone else.  For example, if the dealer plays a 5, and the chosen player also has a 5, they may play it and choose someone else to take five drinks.

ASKING FOR HELP

If the chosen player does not have the matching card, they can ask for help.  If a different player has a matching card, they may play it and choose someone else to drink.  If no one offers help, the chosen player must drink.

The player that must drink plays the next card.

Play continues until all of the cards are played.

DRINK VALUE

2 -10 = Take drinks equal to the number on the card

Jack = 11 drinks

Queen = 12 drinks

King = 13 drinks

Ace = 14 drinks
