OVERVIEW OF PARKING LOT MATH GAME

The Parking Lot Game is a game that requires very little planning, and things that you already have at home can be used, tape and toys! This game is perfect for any kid with an interest in toy cars that need to practice their math skills. Typically, this game uses addition and subtraction, but multiplication and division may also be applied.

SETUP

Setup for this game is quick and easy. Simply cut tape and place it on either the floor, a poster board, or a piece of cardboard. Create a parking lot, and you are able to use your imagination for the design aspect. Be creative!

At the top of each parking space, write a mathematical equation. To begin, or for younger players, use addition and subtraction. For older, more skilled players, use multiplication and division or multistep problems. The game is then ready to begin.

GAMEPLAY

During the game, each player will take their turn. During their turn, the player will move the correct number of cars into the parking spaces so that the number of cars is equal to the answer of the math equation. Once the player has gotten all of them correct, the timer is stopped, and the score is recorded.

The math problems will be changed before the next player takes their turn. This allows for players with a variety of skill levels to play the game.

END OF GAME

The game will come to an end when all of the players have taken their turn. The player who solved all of the problems the fastest, wins the game.
