INTRODUCTION OF PLAYSTATION SEVEN

Playstation Seven is a lightly themed solitaire card game created by Wil Su.  In this game, the player works at a store and is trying to manage a mob of customers.  This is done by organizing customers (cards) into lines (columns) in a way that keeps customers happy.  Customers are kept happy as long as the cards that represent them are kept in descending order.  Drawing through the entire deck without discarding four cards of the same rank will win the game.

THE CARDS & THE DEAL

Playstation Seven uses a 52 card deck.  Shuffle the cards and place the deck face down on the table.  Draw four cards and place them face up to begin four columns.  Each card represents a customer.

THE PLAY

During the game, players are trying to build four columns of cards in descending order.  Two or more cards of the same rank can be played in a row on the column.

To begin play, the player will first choose a column and a space to play the card they are about to draw.  A card can be placed anywhere in the column.

Draw the top card from the draw pile and check to see if it can go into the position that was picked.  If it can be legally played to the column, put the card there and continue play.  If the card does not fit, the player has two options: keep the card, discard the card.

If the player chooses to keep the card, they must discard the entire column that was chosen.  The drawn card begins a new column in its place.

If the player chooses to discard the drawn card, they must also draw the next card and remove them from the game.  Draw another card and see if it fits into the position previously decided upon.  If the new card doesn’t work, the player must decide to keep it or discard the entire column.  Remember, discarding four cards of the same rank ends the game with a loss.

All discarded cards are kept face up.  Pay close attention to the cards that have been discarded.

SCORING

If the player has managed to cycle through the entire deck without discarding four cards of the same rank, the game is won. The player’s score is equal to the number of cards in the columns.

WINNING

The game is won if the player works through the entire deck without discarding four cards of the same rank.
