OVERVIEW OF RUBIK’S CUBE

Everyone has messed around with a Rubik’s cube at some point. You may have been able to solve it, or you may still be scratching your head, wondering how to even start solving the puzzle. Whatever your relationship with the Rubik’s cube, it’s a great game to play alone to pass the time.

SETUP

To start solving a Rubik’s Cube, you must first scramble the cube so that the colors are randomized. Surprisingly, there is an official method for scrambling a Rubik’s Cube that the World Cube Association created. But if you are not seeking to break official records, you can rearrange the cube in any way you like. For example, simply look away from the cube and turn it in random directions until the colors are scattered around.

GAMEPLAY

Once the cube is scrambled, solve it. The goal of playing with a Rubik’s cube is to arrange all six sides with one color per side. It is an incredibly tedious task that will take beginners a very long time, but with some practice, you will get much faster. The standard Rubik’s cube is 3x3x3, but if you are looking for a challenge, there are many different designs.

END OF GAME

Once you have solved the Rubik’s cube and all six sides are a unique color, the game is over. Time yourself to track your improvement. You will get much faster as you continue to practice.
