These types of games are the most traditional kind, and probably what most people think of when asked about card games. In these games, players have a hand of cards and the table will include a draw pile and a discard pile. These games usually allow a player to draw the top card of either pile or in some cases more than one card. The turn of a player usually ends with them discarding a card into the discard pile to improve their hand to some goal for the game.
Another popular version of this type of game is Rummy Games. These also follow the draw and discard mechanism, but they employ an additional step of making melds before discarding cards.
