Hosting an in-person party for your coworker? Check out these 10 farewell party game ideas!

1. WHO SAID IT?

Before the party, you’ll need to prep a list of phrases that coworkers have said around the office. Spend a week or two jotting down these phrases on your phone. Then, at the party, say each of these quotes out loud one by one and have everyone guess who said what.

2. CHARADES

Charades is a classic parlor game you can play in any setting. However, to put a bit of a farewell party game twist on it, prepare phrases and actions based on office life or inside jokes if all of you are particularly close. Then, play as normal, with one player miming the phrase to the best of their ability. The first person to guess correctly gets to go next.

3. OFFICE SCAVENGER HUNT

What can be more fun than a scavenger hunt at an office farewell party? This game will have everyone scouring the office looking for items or places the clues point to. Try to make these hints something related to the coworker that’s leaving, such as their favorite office mug or preferred meeting room. The first player or team to find all the items/places on the scavenger hunt wins.

4. PHOTO RECREATION

Before the party, collect some photos of the leaving coworker’s time at the office. These photos can range from random times at the office to team outings and parties over the years. If there aren’t too many photos of the coworker’s time at the office, ask the coworker for some funny photos they can provide, or simply gather some photos from their social media.

Now, at the party, reveal the photos one by one and have everyone recreate the photo. Best recreations win.

5. PIN THE TIE ON THE COWORKER

You’ve heard of Pin the Tail on the Donkey. But obviously, instead of a donkey, you’ll get a cutout of a person and print a photo of the departing coworker’s face to stick onto the body. Then, give each player a tie that they’ll need to pin onto the coworker while blindfolded. The player who manages to pin the tie on the coworker best wins.

Collect these notes and put them in a nice jar with a note on the top that says, “Do not open till [date].”
