The judge draws a card from the deck and reads it out loud. Then, all other players will argue who that card applies to. Yikes! Of course, a super funny card game that will have you rolling around in laughter is none other than the classic Exploding Kittens. Exploding Kittens is one of the most popular card games out there for a reason (and one of my personal favorites), and the premise is absolutely hilarious. In this card game, players race to become the last player living by defusing or not drawing literal exploding kittens! If you do draw an exploding kitten card and you don’t have a defuse in your hand, you blow up and are out of the game.

This card game is so popular that there are endless expansions you can get once you have the base pack, meaning thousands upon thousands of combinations and plenty of fun! In this funny card game, all players start off with 10 white cards. Then, each player takes turns being the judge by drawing a black card and reading it out loud. All other players must then pick a white card from their hand that best suits the prompt. And the judge can pick their favorite card, which might be the funniest, dirtiest, naughtiest, or (in my case) the cutest card – depending on the judge!

In fact, this is currently one of my favorite card games for small groups, and you’ll simply have to play it to fully understand why. In Coup, players have two secret political influences. The goal? Don’t lose your influences or you’re out of the game. You have to play this game carefully so you don’t get caught in a lie, wrongly accuse another player of a lie, or even get assassinated!

If you’ve got anywhere between 2 and 4 players, this is a perfect game to play in a small group. The goal is to win enough affection tokens to be crowned the winner! You can either do this by being the last player standing in a round or by holding the highest-ranking card by the end of a round. This strategic card game revolves around delivering a love letter to the princess while navigating through the court with lies and deceit. What better game to get your heart pumping?

This party game is best played amongst a group of friends who already know each other. In this game, players take turns acting as the Dictator. The Dictator draws and reads a question card out loud. In this fun game that you can play with up to 8 players, two teams compete to decode the spymaster’s code. If you’ve never played this game before, the basics of the game are for one person in each team to act as the spymaster. The spymasters are privy to which words on a table are for the blue team and which are for the red team. The goal is for the spymaster to give one-word clues so that their team can guess the correct words to win the game! Other players must then try their best to guess the correct answer by writing down their names and whatever they believe to be the top suggestion from a search engine. The first player to score 25 points wins this game!

Looking for a super fun cooperative card game? One of my favorites is The Mind. But although this is a cooperative game, be careful: You can’t communicate! So, in order to win, you’ve got to be in sync with one another! In this game, from your hand of cards, you must place them from lowest to highest, with each player taking turns laying down cards. While the objective is relatively simple, the silence can be deafening and frustrations can run high when playing this fun card game!

Since this is a card game, however, you don’t have to think as hard about which scenario is worse or better. Instead, players pick a card, and they must argue why their card is the worst card. So, you’d better brush up your debating skills! Then, the Judge must decide who wins! All players get to take turns playing the Judge in this game.

Dobble, or Spot It, is another one of my favorite funny card games. I’ve been playing this game for over 10 years, and it’s still a hoot, especially with younger players. In Dobble, the goal is to find one identical symbol between their card and the face-up card in the middle deck. All players play at the same time, so this game can get super chaotic, with players trying their best to match a symbol. While all cards will have at least one matching symbol with another, it can be pretty hard to spot!

Trust me; probably one of the most entertaining card games out there is Dutch Blitz. This is THE card game you want if you want a super fast-paced screaming match occurring across the table among the 2 to 4 players! In this competitive card game, players race to deplete their 10-card Blitz pile as fast as possible in order to earn all the points they need to officially win the game over a few rounds. While this game can only host up to 4 people, don’t worry; there’s an expansion pack for an even more chaotic game! Dutch Blitz can be a bit complicated to get to know at first, so check out the Dutch Blitz rules.
